History:

American Legion Hall, Post #24, was one of the sites of GEN CON® IV through IX, 1971–1976. GEN CON® would eventually outgrow Lake Geneva and become the largest tabletop gaming convention in North America, with attendance in excess of 60,000 attendees. TSR, Inc. also sponsored several smaller conventions such as Winter Fantasy and Autumn and Spring Revels. Following Gary Gygax's memorial service in 2008, his widow Gail and family and friends organized an impromptu gathering of gamers to play games in Gary's memory. Dubbed "Gary Con 0", the convention grew over the next decade, attracting thousands of attendees each year in March to play games and memorialize the man who gave us Dungeons & Dragons®.
